Mighty Boosh comic's art goes on display

Mighty Boosh comedian Noel Fielding is launching his first exhibition tomorrow.

The 34-year-old studied fine art at Croydon Art College before turning his attention to comedy - and says painting is still his passion.

But true to his lack of convention, the exhibition is taking place above a London cake shop at Gallery Maison Bertaux in Soho's Greek Street.

"I know people want me to have an exhibition because they like the Boosh, but I decided it should in somewhere small, so the pressure wouldn't be so massive," said Fielding.

"I was thinking, maybe I should have done it anonymously. I was thinking of calling myself the Jelly Fox, and having some sort of armour on so no one would know who I was."

Paintings going on show include one of a crocodile in a hat shouting 'show me the money', a half-human, half-fox and Rolling Stone Keith Richards.

The pictures, which are on sale from £360, will be on display until February 29.

Fielding is not the first comedian to have his own art exhibition, with Vic Reeves having at least two shows and a book of art, Sun Boiled Onions, to his name.
