The Rabbi of a Weybridge synagogue has spoken of her concern at the anti semitic death threats sent to Chelsea Boss Avram Grant at the club's Cobham Training ground last week.

Rabbi Jackie Pabick of the North West Surrey Synagogue in Horvath Close said: ""It's very sad that some people feel the need to express their feelings in such a way.

At a time when everyone is looking to the growth of interracial understanding it is something very sad indeed.

"Our thoughts are with Avram Grant who must be concerned."

On Tuesday February 19 a note addressed to Grant was opened by a member of Chelsea's staff and found to contain anti-jewish insults and a white powder the note said was lethal.

A police source said it contained the words: "When you open this letter you will die a very painful death"

The powder when analysed was found to be harmless, but the Cobham training ground was sealed off while police carried out their investigations.

Surrey Police are still investigating the incident and the source of the package.
