The chimneys of Battersea power station will be lit up tonight to celebrate the 25th anniversary of a cancer centre.

Blocks of coloured light will be projected onto the two east-facing chimneys of the landmark power station to mark 25 years since the Cancer Resource Centre was founded.

The Battersea-based charity aims to improve the lives of some of the 150,000 people living with cancer in London and their families, providing educational programmes, support, complementary therapies, advice and self-help groups.

Actress Geraldine James, patron of the charity, will host an anniversary reception.
