The antique dealers of Dorking's historic West Street throw open their doors to the public on Saturday, November 16 for the fourth annual Christmas Festival of Antiques.

The public is invited to visit the historic street for a day of fun, food and antiques.

Mulled wine and mince pies will be on offer in participating shops and entertainers and musicians will bring some festive cheer to the street, including Jambalaya, a three-piece jazz band.

If you get peckish during the day, a number of stalls will be available, from hot sausages from Bangers Galore and a hog roast, to a scones stall from Dorking Farmers' Market regular Quiche Supreme.

Take a walk back in time down the famous Dickensian Street and discover a wide variety of antiques from fine Georgian furniture, clocks, porcelain, silver, scientific instruments, sporting antiques, armour, weapons and a host of other collectables.

Offering the perfect solution to those Christmas present dilemmas, the antique dealers of West Street have gifts to suit all pockets.

The day will also see the official launch venue for the West Street website, (www.dorkingantiques.com), featuring information from over 100 antique dealers in the 25 shops.

Join in the fun from 10am through to 5pm and discover your very own Antiques Roadshow on your doorstep in Dorking.

As an added attraction, visitors to the street will be treated to an arts and craft fair organised by the Dorking Rotary Club, being held in the United Reform Church.

A host of Christmas ideas will be on offer, including cake decorating, mask making, oil painting and demonstrations by experts.

Entry to the event is free but all funds received from donations will go to The Migraine Association.
