The GP Patient Survey has revealed how the helpfulness of receptionists at doctor’s surgeries in Sutton was rated for 2023.

Patients have had their say on the service their GP provides in an annual survey carried out by the NHS.

The survey includes categories such as how easy it is to get an appointment, whether appointments are in person, and how helpful the receptionists are.

We’ve searched through the results of the GP surgeries in Sutton to find the best and worst rated surgeries regarding their experiences with receptionists, something we ave already done for the surgeries in Croydon

The GP surgeries where customers are the happiest with the helpfulness of receptionists received a high percentage and the GP surgeries where customers felt receptionists were not very helpful received a low percentage.

The top surgery where Sutton residents said they were most happy with receptinists, was Grove Road Practice with 98 per cent, closely followed by Stonecot Surgery with 92 per cent and Cheam Family Practice with 91 per cent.

A spokesperson for Cheam Family Practice said: “We’re grateful for the hard work of our reception team, and are delighted that this is helping our patients to get the care they need.

“Our staff continue to learn and train so that they might do this even better in a busy and sometimes stressful environment.”

The surgeries where customers found receptionists to be less helpful were Cheam GP Centre with 69 per cent, James O’Riordan Medical Centre with 72 per cent and Mulgrave Road Surgery with 76 per cent.

GP Partners at Mulgrave Road Surgery said: “Since the survey was conducted earlier in the year, we have introduced a raft of new measures to improve patient access and satisfaction, including a new phone system, new online platform for clinical and admin queries and a new website.

“We also have a growing team of clinical practitioners attached to the surgery meaning that patients can now get to see the right clinician in a more timely way.

“We have fully involved our patient participation group in making these changes and confidently expect our survey results next year to reflect improved patient satisfaction. It is notable that Mulgrave Road Surgery scores highly on its clinical quality of care across Sutton practices”.
