A charity is once again making Christmas tree doorstep collections for households in Redbridge and most of Waltham Forest.

Volunteers from Haven House children’s hospice in Woodford Green are collecting trees from January 13 — in exchange for a voluntary donation, of course.

The hospice at The White House, off Woodford High Road, is collecting from all Redbridge postcodes and some in neighbouring Waltham Forest.

“We’re making the Christmas clear-up as easy as possible,” Haven House fundraising manager Sophie Bragg said.

“We’ll pick up trees at the door when people have finished with the festive fir and packed away the baubles, to recycle in an environmentally-friendly way.”

Haven House collected 700 trees last year and raised £13,000 to fund its care services to be there for families with sick children.

The 11 Redbridge postcodes for collections cover Ilford, Wanstead, Fairlop, Seven Kings, Hainault, Barkingside, Gant’s Hill, Clayhall, Redbridge neighbourhood, Cranbrook and part of Chadwell Heath, or listed as: IG1, IG2, IG3, IG4, IG5, IG6, IG8, IG11 8, IG11 9, RM6 and RM8 1.

Five other postal districts are included: E4 Chingford, E11 Leytonstone, E12 5 Wanstead, E17 Walthamstow and E18 Woodford.
