The RSPCA has revealed the wackiest animal rescues they took part in over 2023 across the UK.

From saving a swan in a world-famous recording studio to foxes stuck in tire wheels, the RSPCA were busy helping all types of creatures.

No less so in London, where the charity shared they took part in many animal rescues including, slightly bizarre, fox rescues.

The wild animals are often spotted running around London as they explore and hunt, but sometimes plans don't always go well and the animal's curious nature can get them in deep water.

The weirdest places animals were rescued from in London

RSPCA Animal rescue officer Jade Guthrie saved one curious cub who managed to get his head stuck between a fence post and a loose fence panel.

Jade was able to safely remove the fox and was released back into the wild unharmed in May.

Another cub had been rescued by the charity just a month later after he had discarded litter around his neck for three weeks. 

At a house in Sutton, South London, one adult fox managed to wedge both his front and back end in a gate.

Luckily, RSPCA animal rescue officer Louis Horton was able to cut the fox free and he ran off back into the wild through the back garden of the property.

Last but not least, another fox was helped by the animal charity after he got his head stuck in a car wheel outside a storage yard in New Malden.

Speaking of his rescue, Sam shared: "The poor fox had almost given up and was resigned to his fate.

"The tyre had only been put there the night before, but he was quite exhausted.

"I think the young fox was just being inquisitive - he was possibly looking for some food hiding under there."
