Brazilian police say they have now found the entire body of murdered Southfields teen Cara Burke.

According to reports detectives discovered the 17-year-old’s right leg in a river outside the city of Goiania, Brazil.

Last week Miss Burke’s dismembered body was found hidden in a suitcase by a riverbank in Goiana, 120 miles from the country’s capital Brasilia.

Further remains were found this week and her boyfriend Mohamed D’Ali Carvalho Santos has been charged with her murder.

Miss Burke met Santos in London this year before travelling with him to Brazil in May.

She had attended both Our Lady of Victory and John Paul II RC schools in Putney and Southfields respectively and also played for Chelsea FC community football team.

A source close to the family described her family as “chaotic but endearing”.

The friend said: “When a child goes off the rails as young as 13 or 14, like Cara did, there is very little hope of getting her back on track. Although she might be perceived as a troublemaker, she was really just a misunderstood kid who didn’t really have much of a chance in life.”

The teen was known in Southfields for her antisocial behaviour and had been the subjected of an Asbo banning her from parts of Southfields Businesses in Replingham Road.

Last year she served six months in prison after breaching an Asbo and taking part in robberies close to where she lived.
