Children from a Coulsdon primary school have helped to put smiles on the faces of Bosnian children this Christmas by preparing and sending out gift boxes.
Pupils from St Aidan's Catholic Primary School collected and packed 156 boxes as part of Operation Christmas Child, an initiative aimed at bringing hope to children in desperate situations around the world.
On Wednesday (November 19) the reception classes formed a crocodile chain to pass the boxes to volunteers from the Samaritans.
Deputy head Maggie Chidgey said: "It has been a very successful project. Our children who, on the whole, have lots, can contribute to and help those who don't."
