Pedalling pint drinkers got on their bikes to raise cash for children’s charities.

Customers at Ganley’s in London Road, Morden, swapped their halves for handlebars when they took up a cycling challenge on static bikes outside the pub at the weekend. Drinkers pledged cash to take part in time trials and races during the event on Saturday. Their money will go to Rose’s Gift, an organisation that fundraises on behalf of children’s charities.

Later this month a dozen riders from Merton will attempt to cycle from Lands End to John O’Groats in 12 days to raise cash for the good cause.

The team will set off on July 19, and hope to collect more than £25,000.
