A 14-year-old boy has appeared in court charged with murdering a teenage girl who died following an arson attack.
The boy, from Croydon, was also charged with attempted murder against four members of the girl’s family - who were injured in the blaze at Lessingham Avenue, Tooting.
Maleha Masud, 15, died last Thursday after receiving burn and smoke inhalation injuries in the fire on 21 June.
Her brothers, Zain Masud, 22, Junaid Masud, 16, and her sister Nabiha, 21, are still in a critical condition in hospital following the blaze.
Maleha's mother Rubina, 53, was discharged from hospital a day after the attack.
The boy has been remanded in custody and will appear at the Old Bailey on July 16.
