Croydon Guardian helps find missing cat

Missing cat Max has been found thanks to the Croydon Guardian.

The travelling feline decided to take a holiday from Rackauskas’s home in Sundale Avenue in Selsdon on April 20.

For the past eight weeks he has been sunning himself in a neighbour’s summer house, lounging around on the cushions and being fed every night.

Mary Rackauskas told the Croydon Guardian on Friday: “It was only after reading the paper the lady realised the cat she was feeding might be Max.

“She bought him around last night and I took him to the vet this morning who checked his microchip to see if he was Max.

“We were thrilled to discover it was definitely him.

“He seems quite resigned to be back to be honest, I think he enjoyed sleeping on the cushions in the summer house.

“I’m not sure why he didn’t just come home, I was worried he might have suffered a trauma or had a fright and so did not want to leave the garden.”

Max has returned in time to be reunited with his mum Coco.

Tragically she was diagnosed with an agressive form of cancer just after he went missing and has only 8 weeks left to live.

“Coco is coming back from the Vet’s on Monday so I’m looking forward to reuniting her with Max.

“I’m so grateful he has been found, it’s all thanks to your paper.”

I am so sorry about this lady's cancer, but am really glad the cat as been found. At least they will have some quality time together now.
