The teenage spies of popular CBBC show M.I.High are moving their top secret headquarters to Croydon this summer and in return offering work experience to the boroughs youths.

The fourth series of the children’s show is being filmed at Selhurst School with 13 new episodes being shot entirely in the borough.

Set in an ordinary comprehensive school, M.I.High focuses on the adventures of a group of highly-trained teenage spies.

Their mission is to protect Britain from a series of threats to national security from the evil Grand Master and his Secret Kriminal Underground League.

Show producer, Emma Kingsman-Lloyd, said: “We came to Croydon because the facilities were perfect to support a production of this size.

“The location of the school near to Croydon town centre has meant that we’re ideally situated near to shops and banks and it also has a wide variety of locations – parks, streets and cafes – nearby so we never have to travel very far to find locations for the scenes we film off site.

“But perhaps best of all, Selhurst School only closed last year and has been well maintained since so it’s brilliant.”

Keen to give local kids a chance to benefit from their stay in Croydon the production team have been giving children work experience placements so they can learn what life is like working on a television production.
