Woodwork enthusiasts will have the ideal opportunity to fine-tune their talents at Alexandra Palace over the weekend.

The 23rd International Woodworking exhibition returns to the venue in Alexandra Palace Way, Muswell Hill, from Friday until Sunday, with a packed schedule of workshops and masterclasses guaranteed to entertain and inspire. Visitors will also be given free entry into the new International Crafts Exhibition, which runs in an adjacent hall.

Woodwork pieces made live in a special celebrity challenge area will be sold at the event, and there will also be chances to win great prizes.

The future generation of crafters will be catered for in a special kids' corner, where youngsters will be able to learn a variety of craft techniques.

There will be sit-down workshops for visitors who crave a hands-on crafting experience and both exhibitions will feature an array of the UK and Europe's leading manufacturers, selling the very latest tools, materials and machinery at special show prices.

Expert consultations and demonstrations will also be available so people can test equipment before they buy.

Event organiser Nina O'Kane said: "The fantastic venue of Alexandra Palace will provide the perfect backdrop for both exhibitions. Not only can visitors purchase the very latest materials, but they can also develop their learning through the many workshops and demonstrations on offer. We expect it to be a great weekend."

Tickets are available in advance or on the door. Admission is £8, £6 for senior citizens or students, and £3 for children. For further information call 01353 654422.
