Shaun Derry insists he wants to stay at Crystal Palace beyond the summer, but would like his future sorted sooner rather than later.

The Eagles skipper has been in superb form of late but has less than a year left on his contract and could leave for nothing at the end of the season.

Although Palace manager Neil Warnock has said he will be talking to both Derry and Clint Hill, who is also out of contract in the summer, about new deals before Christmas, the former Leeds United man admits it would be nice to have some idea what they are going to offer.

"It would be nice to get an idea of what the club are thinking and what type of contact they would want me to sign as I have a young family," he said.

"I would like to extend my time here as I have thoroughly enjoyed my second spell with Palace and it would be a shame if I had to move on again but sometimes these things happen.

"I am just looking at my own form at the moment and making people aware that I am in good form if nothing happens at Palace.

"It would be nice to know one way or another where I would be."
