Despite television’s Masterchef ending last week, fans still have reason to be cheerful as host Gregg Wallace is set to open a new greengrocer in Putney this Christmas.
Wallace & Co, a joint venture with Justin Carter, of the Elbow Rooms, will open on the site of Reds in Upper Richmond Road between HSBC bank and Oxford Road in mid-December.
The business will feature a range of grocery items as well as fresh fruit and vegetables supplied by Secrett’s Direct, owned by the TV chef Wallace and business partner Vernon Mascarenhas.
Nick Weir, partner at Shelley Sandzer who oversaw the sale, said he expected the café to be a huge success.
“I think the Wallace & Co concept will be a hit in an affluent location like Putney, it has a high profile chef in Gregg Wallace and Justin Carter is a good operator.
“The concept is different to the likes of Pizza Express, Strada and Nandos as there is a retail offer as well.”
