A woman has been kicked out of her New Addington home after police found 40 wraps of cocaine and four bags of crack in the Central Parade flat.

Officers from Croydon Council threw Jacqueline Nethersole, 51, out of the property after a drugs raid carried out by police earlier this month.

Acting on intelligence and concerns about drug dealing linked to gang activity, the flat in Central Parade was targeted.

Inside the flat was Nethersole, her two adult sons, four young men and a young woman.

Officers from Croydon Police’s Aries team found a large quantity of class A drugs, which tests later confirmed to be cocaine and the highly dangerous derivative of the drug, crack.

After being questioned by detectives, two men arrested during the raid were bailed to return to a south London police station at the end of the month.

A closure order was granted by Croydon magistrates at a hearing on Friday, October 23 and Nethersole was given until noon on Monday, October 26, to leave.

Councillor Gavin Barwell, cabinet spokesman for community safety and cohesion, said: “The action taken to get this tenant and her sons out of the property shows that people who make life hell for their neighbours will be shown the door.

"The positive feedback we have already had from people in the community shows that the eviction was the only option available.

“This should also act as a warning to others who cause problems for their neighbours. Their lives were made a misery, we were delighted to act on their concerns.”

Lisa Clayton, head of operations for Avenue, part of Amicus Horizon who manage the property, said: “We would like to thank Croydon Council and the police for their assistance in this matter.

"This is an excellent example of what can be achieved when agencies and local communities work together.”
