Girls from Norbury Manor Business and Enterprise College grilled local MP, Malcolm Wicks, when they visited the House of Commons on October 20.
The eager Year 11 Law and Politics students put the MP through his paces asking him searching questions such as whether the voting age should be reduced to 16, why some people did not bother to vote and whether the anger over MPs expenses was because ordinary people were suffering in the credit crunch.
Mr Wicks said: βIt was great to meet such an enthusiastic and intelligent group of students.
"It shows that young people are interested in politics - and they asked some key and searching questions.
"Frankly I have had easier times, as a minister, answering questions in the chamber of the House of Commons.β
After the Question and Answer session, Mr Wicks arranged for the girls to view Foreign and Commonwealth Oral Questions.
