On what seemed like a normal early morning on Thursday 22nd October at the Southside Cares Thrift Centre in the 3800 block of Jeff Davis Highway turned not so normal once it was visited by a deer that went straight through the window.
By the time help had arrived the deer had gone and however had left after itself a lot of destruction. The deer had gone through one window, wondered around the store and left through another. A passer-by called 911 when saw the bizarre scene of a deer in the store.
Anyone who had seen this would have been in major shock, some people didn’t even believe it, and others may have thought it was a joke. The workers of the story were still in shock and couldn’t actually believe what had happened. It all seemed like one big joke, but then again to whom wouldn’t it seem like a joke if you saw a deer running around a store.
What condition the animal was in and why it was in the store was left unknown as it ran off and animal control were unable to catch it however there was a fair amount of blood in the store. Overall the stock of the store was not damaged however there was a lot of clearing up to do for the workers and windows to be replaced.
It was one shocking Thursday morning for Richmond.
