More than 120 runners braved the wind and rain during a 5km race to raise money for the South West London and St George’s Mental Health Trust.

Transport Minister Sadiq Khan gave the starter’s orders for the race, which was organised by the trust to promote mental health and overall wellbeing among Merton and Wandsworth residents.

A mixture of trust staff, service users and members of the public participated in the event on Saturday October 24.

The 5km course took runners and walkers around the perimeter of the leafy Springfield University Hospital site.

All money raised by the run went towards leisure activities for Trust inpatients.
