The battle to restore later collection times to post boxes in Raynes Park is focusing on a new target.
Earlier this year the Post Office suddenly switched final collections at boxes across the area from 5.30pm to 4pm. In October, after protests from angry residents and the intervention of Wimbledon MP Stephen Hammond, the Post Office agreed to restore the 5.30pm time at three boxes - and now local letter writers have another one in their sights.
Community group the Raynes Park Association is campaigning to get another later collection at one of the boxes in Grand Drive. Late collections currently take place at the junction of Cannon Hill Lane and the Green, at the junction of Worple Road and Trewince Road and in Kingston Road.
