Crystal Palace midfielder Darren Ambrose was named Championship Player of the Month on Saturday.

The 25 year-old scored in all four of the Eagles' games in November to take his tally to 12 for the season, his best ever season haul.

"I am delighted for him," said manager Neil Warnock.

"It's good for everybody really and good for the team as a whole."

Ambrose couldn't continue his hot streak in front of goal against Doncaster on Saturday, though maybe should have done better from a yard out when denied by Gareth Roberts' last-ditch tackle.

"I think he should have scored," said Warnock.

"But everybody can have a bad day."

Ambrose wasn't the only player to miss an easy chance as the Eagles lost 3-0 on Saturday, with Neil Danns sidefooting wide from four yards with the goal at his mercy, something Warnock was not too happy about.

"I haven't got a clue how you miss from there,” he said.

“Every time you look at it it gets worse.

“Goals win games and in the end they have won easily, scored three goals and looked like Brazil.

“That's life though and you have got to take it on the chin.

“Thank goodness we've got two tough games against Reading and Sheffield United this week though.

“There's not much else to say other than I'm disappointed.”
