Marie Curie Cancer Care will light up Kingston on Saturday, with a Christmas tree in Market Place and a remembrance service in All Saints Church.

The charity wants residents to sponsor a light on the Christmas tree in memory of a loved one, or in support of one of the 290 Marie Curie nurses in London and the south-east.

A non-religious remembrance service will take place on Saturday, December 12, from 5.30pm at All Saints Church, with mulled wine and mince pies, before the lights are switched on.

Marie Curie highlighted a case of a woman from Chessington with terminal breast cancer who was cared for at home, allowing her to fulfil her wish of spending one last Christmas with her husband, 12-year-old son and dog Archie.

To sponsor a light visit justgiving.com/kingston-lights or call 020 7599 7338.
