Kingston’s troubled patient involvement group will hold a relaunch next week, 18 months after organisational disputes crippled the fledgling organisation.
A meeting on December 17 at the Friends Meeting House in Eden Street, next to Primark, will be the venue for the rebirth of Kingston Local Involvement Network (K-Link).
K-Link was launched last July, promising to give people a greater say on NHS and social care services.
Just six months later the nine elected members of the steering group, including chairman Sandra Berry, were sacked by post by Kingston Citizens Advice Bureau, the organisation tasked with supporting the Link after months of disagreement.
Another year later, and the contract was finally passed to Kingston Voluntary Action, which will attempt to re-establish the organisation.
The meeting takes place on Thursday, December 17, from 11.30am to 2pm and will include the chance to establish the governance arrangements.
