An independent review into Wandsworth’s social services department has described the council as “performing well”.
The Care Quality Commission (CQC) praised services across the board for older people, as well as those with disabilities, learning difficulties and mental health problems.
According to the study, the council provides a cost-effective service “that consistently delivers above minimum requirements for people”.
The assessors endorsed the high levels of support provided to older people to help them maintain independent lives and to stay in their own homes.
Councillor Jim Madden, executive member for adult social services, said: “We are working tremendously hard to keep vulnerable adults safe and promote independence and well-being for older people.”
