Soggy Santas shrugged off the wet weather on Sunday, November 29, when they battled through the rain in Bushy Park for a hospice fundraising run.

Hundreds of Princess Alice Hospice supporters donned Santa outfits for the charity’s Santa Fun Run and Jingle Bell Walk at Bushy Park, Hampton.

Joining the run were representatives from Barclays Bank, Walton, and the Esher group of the Rosemary Conley Slimming and Fitness Club.

Kiss FM breakfast DJ and comedian Melvin O’Doom also took part, with his friend and hospice nursing assistant Shakira Garrett.

A hospice spokesman said: “Due to the success and demand for places, the event team will be holding another event at Kempton Park Racecourse on Saturday, December 12.

“There is no limit to numbers at Kempton Park and the hospice is asking that as many people join in and help them attempt to beat the world record for the largest number of Santas in one place.

“With the record standing at almost 13,000 this is a huge ask. If the whole community get behind it, there is no reason for the record not to be beaten.”
