Workshops to be held for budding writers

A local author will be helping budding writers with two writers workshops.

Christian Ainley, who won an award for his children's book The Enchanted Amulet, is hoping young people will attend his first event held on January 23 at Sanderstead Library from 2-5pm.

The teacher at Riddlesdown Collegiate runs a book club at the school which meets every Friday lunchtime to review books and discuss writing techniques.

Those wishing to attend can book their free tickets at the Library.

The Croydon Clocktower is the venue for the second event, which takes place on the February 8 from 8pm to 9pm. Members from the Croydon Writers Circle will be in attendance with Mr Ainley as a guest speaker.

Mr Ainley said: “We've got our first two events lined up, where I'll be sharing writing techniques with the audience and getting them involved in fun, creative exercises to help develop their imagination and creativity.   For more information, go to Christian Ainley's website at www.christianainley.com.
