Croydon Guardian editor Alison Hepworth will be getting on her bike next week when she joins three other volunteers in this year's bike to work campaign.
Organised by Croydon Cycling Campaign the aim of bike to work week is to encourage more people to leave their cars at home and to enjoy the health benefits of cycling.
Four people have taken up the challenge of swapping their cars or usual form of transport for two wheels for the week.
They will be cycling to and from work and keeping a daily diary of their journey.
The four volunteers are Haydn Dey, who will be cycling from South Croydon to Cherry Orchard Road, Elizabeth Collins will make the journey from Purley to Taberner House, PE teacher Mr Cook will ride his bike to Archbishop Tenison School and Alison will cycle to the Guardian's offices off Purley Way.
See next week's Guardian to find out how they get on in the early part of their challenge.
