These are the first pictures of 22-year-old Will Cullen who died when his car hit a bus in Elmers End over the weekend.

The youth, from Bromley, suffered serious neck injuries when the blue Ford Fiesta he was driving struck a 367 bus carrying five people.

Mr Cullen was trapped in the wreckage of his car after the accident which happened at about 3.30pm on Saturday.

Fire crews arriving on the scene managed to pull him clear, but he died at the site of the accident despite the best efforts of paramedics.

Mr Cullen’s family and friends have left heartfelt tributes and flowers at the scene of his death, the junction of Long Lane, Croydon Road and Tannery Close.

His parents and sister Amy wrote: “Our lovely son William. You were always a good hardworking boy, thinking of others before yourself. Words cannot express how much we loved you.”

Another tribute reads: “Such a kind person with a huge heart and a very cheeky smile. You have played a massive part in my life and I am proud and blessed to say that you were the first person I ever really fell for.

“Love always Sal.”

Friends have also created a Facebook site for tributes.

London Ambulance said a teenage girl on the bus was taken to Mayday Hospital with minor injuries.

A post-mortem examination was held at the Princess Royal University Hospital on Monday and gave the cause of death as serious head injuries.

Police are appealing for witnesses to come forward.
