By Community Correspondent Jackie Mitchell Designer goldsmith Roger Elliott, who lives in Epsom, (www.rogerelliott.com) rose to the challenge of designing five matching pendants for five grand-daughters, which were commissioned by Stephen and Maggie Hills, their grandparents.

When the five girls visited his studio, Roger gave them a choice of gold colour and gem stone. Four chose white gold with a pink sapphire, while the fifth opted for aquamarine.

Stephen Hills said “I wanted to give my five grand-daughters something special as a memento and the matching pendants fitted the bill. Roger has done a superb job, the girls were delighted and the jewellery is exquisite.”

The five grand-daughters wore the pendants at a charity event (pictured) in aid of the baby unit at Pembury Hospital, Tunbridge Wells, organised by Caley Walden, one of the grand-daughters and her two friends.

Epsom resident Roger designs exclusive jewellery from his studio in Nutfield, near Reigate, Surrey, specialising in high grade gemstones set in contemporary jewellery. Actress Dame Judi Dench recently wore an exclusive one carat diamond pendant and matching half carat diamond ear-rings in yellow gold, created by Roger, at the premiere of the movie “Nine” in New York. The pieces are from Roger’s Oyster collection.
