Croydon's unbeaten welter-weight Chas Symonds added the vacant British Masters belt to his Southern Area title with a hard-fought points win last Friday.
Facing 35-year-old Welshman Keith Jones at short notice, the Croydon Bomber was given a stern test in front of a packed York Hall in Bethnal Green, but came through his first 10-round test to comfortably win another title on points.
Symond's promoter Eugene Maloney told the Guardian: "He's 11 and 0 and he's got two titles. In another three or four fights he will be challenging for the British title and in three years he is more than capable of winning the world title."
