The new Healthy Living Centre in Valley Park is set to be opened this Friday at 2pm by the Mayor of Croydon, Councillor Brenda Kirby.
The new centre, situated in Franklin Way, cost £980,000 and boasts a doctor's surgery, nursery, children's playrooms, a community hall and family room.
The centre will serve the Valley Park and Cherry Tree estates a community of about 1,400.
The centre was born out of a series of community discussions over the need for local facilities and health services on the estate.
The centre is partly solar powered and uses collected rain water to flush toilets.
There is also a coffee shop and on-line technology centre designed to encourage the local residents to drop in.
Councillor Stuart Collins, cabinet member for culture and sport, said that the centre was "set to become the hub of the community".
