- The Third Round Carling Cup (League Cup) clash against Charlton at the Valley will take place on Wednesday, October 27, kick-off at 8pm.

Ticket prices will be £15 for adults £10 for senior citizens £5 for juniors.

Palace last met Charlton in the League Cup in the 1993/1994 season over two legs which Palace won 4-1 on aggregate. Palace went out in the next round after losing 4-1 to Everton in a replay at Selhurst after holding them 2-2 at Goodison Park.

- The Carling Cup match against Hartlepool United was a special moment for striker Dougie Freedman, he became only the 32nd player to make his 250th appearance in all competitions for the club. Dougie marked it by scoring his 93rd goal for the club to take the game into extra time.

He joined the Eagles in September 1995 from Barnet for a fee of £800,000 after scoring 32 goals in a season and a half at Underhill. Dougie made his debut against Birmingham City at St Andrew's on September 9, 1995 and he finished his first season at Selhurst Park as top scorer with 20 league goals.

He played a key role in the promotion winning campaign of 1996/97 but in the following season he left for Wolverhampton Wanderers in a £800,000 deal.

After a spell at Nottingham Forest Dougie returned to Palace in October 2000 with the club in the middle of a relegation battle. For fans Dougie will always be a hero for his 87th minute strike against Stockport at Edgeley Park on the final day of the season that kept the Eagles in Division One.
