When Hurricane Ivan ripped through the Caribbean earlier this month, the cricketers of Royal Russell School waited anxiously for news of friends on the island of Grenada.
Eighteen lucky pupils from the Coombe Lane school went on a two-week cricket tour to Grenada in July.
But six weeks later around 90 per cent of Grenada's homes were damaged or destroyed and 37 people were killed when Ivan devastated the island.
Their guide Bentley Skeete was lucky to survive, but Royal Russell parents have started collecting clothes for those who lost all their possessions.
