Cray Wanderers bought AFC Wimbledon's remarkable 78 match unbeaten run to an end on Saturday. They scored a goal in each half to finish off the Dons.
There was only one win for our sides. Croydon Athletic got a much needed victory, beating Burgess Hill 2-1.
The win moved the Rams into mid-table and came despite a midweek defeat against Beckenham Town in the Surrey Senior Cup.
Croydon FC were hoping for better things at home to Newport, IOW, but they were soon in for a shock as the visitors scored a goal either side of half time to take control of the game. Ahmet Akdag reduced the score but the Trams could not find the equaliser in this 2-1 defeat.
Whyteleafe also made a midweek exit from the Surrey Senior Cup, losing 2-0 at home to Kingstonian. They lost at home to high-flying Walton and Hersham in the league in a 1-0 defeat.
To make matters worse the Leafe had player manager Stuart Massey sent off leaving the home side to struggle on.
Dulwich Hamlet won 3-0 at Fleet Town midweek but could not build on that win on Saturday when they played host to near neighbours Bromley and were beaten 1-0.
