Scrooge will be a humbug once again when an acclaimed one-man performance of a classic festive story returns to Guildford's Mill Studio at the Yvonne Arnaud Theatre this Christmas.

A Christmas Carol (from December 21 to 24) features celebrated actor Clive Francis in his highly-praised solo performance of Dickens' ever-popular story.

Extra performances have been added to this month's return run because of huge demand. Francis, last seen on the main stage of the Yvonne Arnaud in Travels with My Aunt, said he felt the popularity of the story was because it epitomised the warmth of Christmas.

"It allows us to forgive any kind of wrong-doings in ourselves, because we see them in Scrooge and identify them in ourselves. So when you get through the story to the end you have a sense of finding redemption through the Christmas spirit," he said.
