Streatham-Croydon 22
London Exiles 20

Streatham-Croydon fly-half Will Manns slotted a last minute penalty to snatch victory at the death. The hosts began with their best period of rugby this season, with second rows Simon Hampton and Andy Brown catching the eye with some barnstorming runs.

Manns landed three penalties from four attempts to give the home side the perfect start.

Streatham then turned the screw and prop Bob Dean scored with a trademark run from close range.

But Exiles got back into the game when their centre scored just before half-time to reduce the arrears to 14-7.

Exiles bagged another try shortly after the break, but Darren Walker and centre Brendan Bruce combined well to set up Streatham's second try, scored by wing Gavin Calloo.

But the visitors refused to give up, as their second row went over following a tap penalty move. Then, with just five minutes remaining, they took the lead for the first time in the game with a penalty from in front of the posts.

Streatham's forwards gave it all they had in search of the winning score, and forced a penalty leading to Manns' last-ditch heroics.
