Croydon Schools' U11s secured an emphatic 7-2 victory over Godalming Schools at Hindhead on Saturday in a Surrey Schools' Sydney Black league encounter, writes David Lomas.
Alex Wynter (Davidson) bagged a hat-trick as Croydon applied pressure and ran out easy winners.
Croydon started strongly and took the lead after excellent approach play down the left flank which culminated in James Lowy (Woodcote) netting from close range.
A few minutes later, Godalming pulled a goal back, but Croydon increased their advantage shortly after when Alex Wynter netted twice before the interval and then George Gomez (Ridgeway) registered his 16th goal this season.
Kwame Miller netted his first goal for Croydon after the break, which was quickly added to by Marshall.
Wynter completed the scoring to make it 7-2.
Croydon's U16s take on Brighton tonight (Wednesday) at Croydon Arena (7pm) and visit south London for a London Schools' Hawke Trophy semi-final on Saturday, January 29, at 10.30am. The U11s have a local derby match against Sutton Schools in the quarter-final of the English Schools' Area 11 Gills Shield, at Greenacres, Warlingham, on Saturday, January 29. KO 10.30am.
