Croydon Neighbourhood Care Association (CNCA) has paid tribute to the generosity of people living in the borough.
Volunteers and staff from the CNCA were able to distribute more than 140 bags, filled with items such as mince pies, toiletries, socks and light bulbs which were donated by the public, to the elderly.
The CNCA has been inundated with thank you letters from people who received the goodie bags.
Lynda Algat said: "This whole experience showed me how kind people in Croydon are they put themselves out to collect and deliver items to us, for passing on to someone they had never met. Some even made handmade items or iced cakes."
