Anyone with a passing interest in astronomy will have heard of black holes in space, those terrifying objects which suck in everything in their vicinity.

Fortunately, they are at such a distance that they pose no threat to us here on earth. However, it is of some concern to find that Croydon has its own black hole'.

If you wish to avoid it, then I can reveal that it is located halfway across the Croydon flyover, where you will find that two adjacent lamp standards are completely missing, causing a 200-metre long black hole' at night.

These lights have been missing for about a year now, presumably being victims of traffic accidents, and the council has seen no need to replace them, preferring to spend our taxes on road humps, width restrictions and the like.

Should someone with influence read this, they might like to consider rectifying this situation before some unfortunate soul is sucked in, never to be seen again in the land of the living.
