Haling Manor School's 140 final-year pupils were put through their paces by the army last Wednesday in preparation for their GCSEs.
The year 11 students at the school in Kendra Hall Road, South Croydon, experienced training exercises similar to those endured by recruits during their basic training.
Throughout the day pupils were challenged to solve problems like bridge building, and tested their agility on an army assault course to help build confidence for their exams this summer.
