- Andrew Johnson took part in his first England training session this week and he is determined that he will not be a one cap wonder.

"Make no mistake, I'm not just here for the ride," AJ told Sky Sports. "I've come here and I mean business. If it means being fourth or fifth striker then I am happy to be here.

"The last thing I want to do is train this week, maybe play a little on Wednesday then go away and think it is all over and done with. Whether I get 10 minutes or half an hour I'll be pleased to be out on the pitch and show everyone what I can do.

"It's just like a new challenge for me," he continued. "It's just like the challenge of keeping Crystal Palace in the Premiership, so I've got two challenges on my hands now."

- Wayne Routledge still has to wait for his first goal of the season after the FA Premier League Dubious Goals Committee ruled that the 20-year-old's goal' against Southampton was in fact an own goal.

Palace's 54th minute goal at St Mary's on November 27 last year was in fact an own goal by Andreas Jakobsson and has therefore not been credited to Wayne.

- A young Palace side won through to the Surrey Senior Cup quarter-finals after a 6-2 victory over Chipstead at the Recreation Ground.

A hat-trick from Anton Smith and further goals from Ryan Hall (2) and Jamie Brotherton set up a quarter-final tie against AFC Wimbledon at Kingsmeadow. The date of the tie has yet to be arranged but it will take place between February 21 and March 8.

- Crystal Palace have signed up ex-England internationals Ray Clemence and Graham Gooch OBE for our marquee on the pitch sporting dinner here at Selhurst Park on Thursday, May 19. The legendary entertainer Frank "It's The Way I Tell Them" Carson will aid Ray and Graham throughout the night. Comedian Ian Irving, who is back by popular demand, hosts the evening.

Tables of 10 are now on sale at £650 (ex. VAT), which will include a full night of entertainment and evening meal. The bars at the club will open at 5pm, and entrance to the superb marquee will be made via the changing room areas and player's tunnel.

It's a mixed night with lounge suits as the dress code.
