Having initially trained children to use nappies, potties and toilets they then have between 50 and 60 years use of private and communal toilets.

It now seems that councils like Croydon have decided to remove toilets when they are most needed, forcing older people to wear incontinence pads, soil themselves or use any available space to obtain relief.

Young, new policemen are then expected to arrest these people without any understanding as to what embarrassment has led to the act.

What exactly does the council expect when cafes close and older people get shouted at by pub workers when they ask to use a toilet? After all, surely the council is at fault for not supplying such useable facilities.

It is suggested that older people visit the towns that have city status that our council craves so much to see how they cope with the problem. Or better still they need only go to Beckenham in Bromley where many Croydon residents go by tram to shop.
