A new set of wheels has been presented to members of the Guyanese Organisation for Cultural Advancement.
The minibus will enable the group to provide transport and carry out essential services for older people in the community.
An inscription in memory of Joyce Daniels MBE, a founding member of the Guyanese organisation who died earlier this year, is written on the side of the minibus.
Graham Lale of Help the Aged travelled to Thornton Heath last Thursday to hand over the keys to the vehicle which was bought with a grant from the charity’s SeniorMobility campaign.
Jim Meredith, chairman of the organisation, said: “We would like to thank Help the Aged for all the help we have received in buying this vehicle. It has been badly needed for some time now, and I know I speak for all our members and staff when I say that it will prove an invaluable addition to our resources here.”
