Fairfield’s resident orchestra, London Mozart Players, joined sixth form pupils at Haling Manor School to help them record their own CDs.
As part of the Nestle Make a Disc initiative, a mobile studio went to the after-school Make Space Club in Kendra Hall Road, South Croydon, just before the Easter holidays.
Musicians and sound engineers worked with the teenagers who had their music tracks professionally mixed and burned on to individual CDs.
Make a Disc studio producer Rob Archibald showed the students how the recording and sound equipment worked and left them £400 of kit to carry on the good work.
Make Space is a £2.5million campaign supported by the Nestle Trust in partnership with national children’s charity 4Children.
