Inspired by a trip to the Tate Modern, students at Croydon College are putting together their end of year exhibition.
Students on the college’s Access art and design course took part in a four-day workshop at the gallery last month.
They were encouraged to share their thoughts and exchange ideas in the workshops and use it as a catalyst for producing their own art work.
The students are now in the throes of putting together art work for their portfolios and final exhibition on July 1, which will be attended by Joleen Keizer, Tate Modern’s community curator, and artist Alana Jelinek.
Students on the access course are adults returning to study. The courses are designed to help them go on to higher education.
