Palace supporter David Fettes, has revealed how Palace have had an influence in Zambia.
He writes: “The Tongabezi Trust School is based in the Zambian bush and was set up for children in Zambia so they could be helped to develop a greater knowledge and understanding of educational and social issues.
“Like all Zambians, the children are passionate about football, and put on a game for me to watch. It was wonderful to see how proud the children were in their Crystal Palace strip as they ran themselves ragged in the heat of the Zambian afternoon.
“I would like to thank the club on their behalf for such a wonderful donation. You cannot imagine what it means to the children, who have nothing.” If you wish to help with one-off donations or by sponsoring a child, you can do so through the school’s UK charity, The Charitable Trust for The Tongabezi Trust School, which can be contacted via David Fettes, 28 The Avenue, Chobham, Nr Woking, Surrey GU24 8RU.
