New ‘traps’ have been fitted to 22 council vehicles which will reduce the emission of the gases by between 80 and 95 per cent.
A further six vehicles are expected to be modified over the next few months and a programme to refit the refuse and recycling trucks, operated by Cleanaway, is almost complete.
