Tamasha Theatre Company presents All I Want is a British Passport! at Croydon Clocktower. Written and performed by Nadim Sawalha, this satirical, one-man comedy of Mohamed Al Fayed's defiant clashes with an unwelcoming British Government has been selling out in London.

Directed by Kristine Landon-Smith, it is a witty insight into the mind of the man with the most famous corner shop in the UK Harrods.

Croydon-based Nadim Sawalha played Mohamed Al Fayed in the BBC television docudrama Justice in Wonderland.

This experience sparked his interest in Al Fayed, which led to the two meeting for coffee and cake at Harrods followed by a period of extensive research by Nadim. The result is this touching and humorous show that represents the human side of the story as opposed to the scandal and drama that surrounds it.

The play is a thought provoking satire on the Government, authority and immigration, which examines Al Fayed's exhaustive quest to obtain a British passport. The play is set during the time when his story was rarely out of the news, following the opening of the inquiry into the death of his son Dodi and Princess Diana, and his High Court injunction against the BBC's investigation into his finances.

All I Want is a British Passport! was developed as part of Tamasha's new writing programme, Tamasha Writing, which is committed to work and extensive research within communities to uncover a rich and diverse range of stories and voices.

The comedy contains strong language.
