A cancer sufferer wants to become Mayday Hospital's first official member, should its bid for foundation status be successful.
Marion Crawley was at the official launch for the hospital's bid for foundation status last Wednesday.
The Thornton Heath resident said: "My life was saved by the wonderful staff at Mayday and I am happy to support the trust in anyway I can."
Mayday chief executive Vannessa Wood said: "We won't know until later this year if we have been successful in our application, but we need your help now.
"If we become a foundation trust, the way we run our hospitals will change dramatically with the trust board reporting to a council of governors drawn from the local community we serve and voted for by our members who will be people like Marion Crawley."
